Australia Flag

The flag of Australia was chosen in 1901 from entries in a nationwide design competition held following Federation. The flag is a defaced Blue Ensign: a blue field with the Union Flag in the upper hoist quarter, and a large white seven-pointed star known as the Commonwealth Star that symbolises the six states and other territories of the Commonwealth of Australia; the remaining half is a representation of the Southern Cross constellation in white with one small five-pointed star and four, larger, seven-pointed stars. Our international flags are accurately reproduced to exact specifications. The flag has 2 brass grommets on the left edge for hanging. The 4"x6" size is mounted to a staff with a spear top. Also available below are Weatherproof Vinyl Decals (suitable for outdoor use), offered in both 3.5"x5" and 1"x1.5" 50-pack decal set. Polyester flags are imported and not recommended for prolonged outdoor use. For outdoor use, we recommend our nylon flags. Also available below is an indoor/ceremonial version of the flag with a pole sleeve and gold fringe.
