Texas became the 28th state of the Union on December 29th, 1845. The official flag of Texas is a well-known, well-loved and prominent flag. Commonly referred to as the "Lone Star Flag," this one star on the flag gave rise to the state's famous nickname: "The Lone Star State." Along with the flag of Hawaii, the Texas flag is only one of two state flags to have served as a national flag.
All flags larger than 12"x18" feature sewn stripes & star.
